Strange time to make a Reagan reference
Republicans are comparing Boehner's rejection of Obama's $4 trillion debt-reduction proposal with Reagan at Reykjavik.
I'd like to remind all the Boehner apologists out there that Reagan agreed to enormous tax increases in 1982-- the largest peacetime tax increase in U.S. history-- which was meant to help tackle the already-balooning deficit. Not only did the Reagan tax increases not sink the U.S. further into debt-- the U.S. economy began to grow and employment started to rise.
