Oprah Winfrey Introduces the Anti-Christ?

By MaggieCat - Posted on 19 April 2008

On April 16th, 2008, I received another horrid smear email regarding Senator Obama and his connection to Oprah Winfrey. She has begun a new chapter of her life regarding spirituality and I gather that it is within the metaphysical realm and naturally every Christian Fundamentalist is screaming “Oh my God, this is the apocalyptic woman who brings the Anti-Christ into the world”. According to these people, the bible passages about the apocalypse claim that the anti-Christ will be of Muslim descent so naturally, they are now saying that he is the anti-Christ. They could not make the “Muslim” label stick, so now they are going to label him the new Anti-Christ and Oprah as the devil’s helpmate.

The point of all this is that what we are seeing is a whole lot of people who won’t admit that they are racist and continue looking for any excuse they can to deny a black man the presidential election, even if they have to slander him. Apparently these fine Christians are willing to break one of the 10 Commandments to prevent him from winning and now it seems that the people who rallied the cry; “Anybody but Hillary!” are now helping her to smear and bash him. They never figured that they would have to contend with a black man rising so high and so quickly. This is likely to be one of the saddest episodes in history. Right now, our country’s ‘white bread’ crowd is in the minority and ethnic groups of all color; black, brown, red and yellow outnumber the white man. This is extremely terrifying for the white racists and bigots of America.

If ethnic groups were to realize their number superiority and actually realize that they gain more power by joining together, there is no way that Obama could lose. However, enough of them are involved in their own class and color wars and ignorance to even realize that they are being manipulated by a super elite group. The super elite group is comprised of ultra wealthy corporate interests that include a good percentage of the military industrial complex government vendors/contractors, some of the pharmaceautical companies, dirty politicians, corporate owned media outlets and of course some of the very wealthy people who are less than open to a truly egalitarian society.

This group does not want a unifier to clean up government, because if that were to happen, the pig trough of greed would stop. Their sole purpose is to keep the culture of corruption strong and healthy and eventually enslave the working class. Strong words perhaps, but this attitude is reminiscent of the time period leading up to the French Revolution. The very rich and powerful of France got to the point where they forgot to care for their poor and working class and of course we all know how that turned out.

The biggest danger to America is that if this trajectory continues down this path of strident anger, indifference and polarity, this country will be closer to self destruction. If they manage to keep Obama out, who will the fundamentalists of our country blame for the implosion that will surely come if McCain or Clinton wins? How will this group of Christians reconcile with the Christians led by Reverend Rod Parsley’s belief that the Anti-Christ is supposed to rise up from the European Nations. Remember that Parsley claims that the AC is supposed to be a Jew? Maybe they will battle for the title in some sort of World Wide Wrestling Slug Fest and they can appease the poor working class with ring side seats as a distraction from their economic suffering.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to feel about a group of Christian Republicans that I have always loved and thought the world of, and what do I say to them when I see them again. If I think a good and loving reply, I will share it with you all. He who has hope has everything. Hope springs eternal.

So disappointing to hear about this but not surprising.

However, do you ever think about the fact that with all the negativity & rumors thrown at Sen. Obama and the awful attacks & lies, some how he recovers so well, completely resilent.  Could it be that he is "destined" to be President Obama...  more and more I believe that is the case.   And No, he is (not) the anti-Christ.

America sees true change!

Maggie,

I haven't seen that email, but it sounds as if the "He's a Muslim" group is trying another tactic.  I'm not too sure how much racism, or even Christianity really plays into it, other than being tools used by that < super elite group comprised of ultra wealthy corporate interests >  I love the way you phrased that, and find it to be totally within reason, no....with the rhelm of strong possibility.

You also wrote....(why does my text keep changing colors?) <If ethnic groups were to realize their number superiority and actually realize that they gain more power by joining together, there is no way that Obama could lose.>  I think that to have all minority groups unite, one would have to assume that each person within each minority thinks and feels the same way. But we all know that each ethnic group is made up of individuals with diverse thoughts and beleifs.  IMO, we can no more unite them under one banner than we call whites, or any other race or culture.  The goal, as I see it, is to unite all Americans under the banner of our flag.

I know you never intended to say that all Christians feel the way of the ultra right wing, but I wanted to make that clear for anyone who is reading that does not know your beautiful heart and spirit.  Some people want to paint Christians as being fearful, dishonest, aggressive, and lacking in compassion, mercy, and respect.  That is not the case for most real Christians, and those that do have those traits are being used by the greed and corrupt powers-that-be, mostly without their even knowing it.  The main this is that they do not speak for the majority of Christians, who go about our daily lives without observation by the press.

I'm saying all of this to make the point, as I see it, of what you wrote:  That greed is really the controlling "party",  and will say or do anything to maintain their power.  They see the rest of us as pawns in their manipulative game.  If I misinterpreted what you were saying, please let me know.

What to say to the Christian Republicans that you have loved and thought the world of?  First, realize that they are probably not a willing participant in the game.  Second, if they believe the negativity, just tell them that that Oprah is exploring her spiritual nature, and she also supports Barack Obama.  One has no direct bearing on the other.  I would also tell them that I KNOW that they are too good of a Christian, and too intelligent to give credence to such malicious and slanderous rumors.

P.S.  I checked Snopes for that email, and didn't find it.  Hopefully that means that it isn't widespread.

Suzi, I appreciate your kind clarification. I in fact did not mean to imply all Christians, just these two groups, Rod Parsley's group and that of the group that sent me the smear mail.  Parley's group claims to believe that America was created to destroy Islam and that a Jewish Anti-Christ will rise up out of the European nations and this local group that claims that Oprah is the "Apocalyptic" woman who introduces the Anti-Christ that is of Muslim descent.  Sorry for the confusion.  I was writing with a great deal of anxiety for this new dilemna and could have been more clear.

I agree that the true Christians will not participate in these kinds of things, but are certainly susceptible and still not sure how to discuss these things, but I will take my time and with your advice and God's prompting.....Thanks for your support.  I hope we hear from others too and see what they have to say.

Maggie,  You were clear to me, and I understood exactly what you were saying, as did most of our posters, I would imagine.  I just know how sometimes the "drive-bys" can come in, twist words, and leave their anger filled messages here for all to read, never coming back in to discuss their point of view.  Your post was too important to be subjected to that, so I wanted to make sure they understood what you were saying.

I understand your anxiety completely.  We both seem to become distressed with the hate mongers, and when the message Obama is trying to get out is twisted.  For me, I think that comes from a sense of being powerless to stop it.  I want to be able to step in and show people the truth as I see it, but my words have a limited range.  I'm hoping that by posting here, and by talking with as many people as we can in our daily lives, we are doing our part.

As for Parsley and his ilk, including Hagee, those who preach hate under the guise of Chrisitianity do more harm that a satanic cultist.  At least with a satanist, the evil is evident, and they are easily dismissed.   The ones that preach disguised evil, under the banner of the Gospel, are not so transparent to many.  The sad part is, many people are looking for answers to problems, and too easily buy into the hate filled messages of these men. My only consolation is that they will have to answer to their Maker one day.
