San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris will be California's next attorney general, after her Republican opponent Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley conceded today. Karl Rove's committee put up 1.1 million to fund attack ads against her at the last minute.
She will be replacing Jerry Brown as AJ... is a close political friend of President Obama. Most Democrats believe that "the female Obama" will go far in America politics.

Phew. I'm glad this is a positive story. The quotes made nervous that it was some gender-based insult towards the first lady or something. Kind of sad that my mind went their first because it feels these kinds of things are too frequent.
The right has been so amped up on uncomfortable rhetoric for so long now that it has my mind there ready for the next round.
Maybe I need to relax a little bit and don't let my mind wander so fast or so easily.
