47% Blumenthal (D), 40% McMahon (R)

Blumenthal good to go... I don't see her beating him. Her steroids buying millions in air time has something to do with this.

If and when we start talking about the gubernatorial race, let me tell you that I am EXTREMELY good friends with Tom Foley, and he is FAR FROM EXTREME. He is a main stream Republican that all of you would probably find acceptable.

"mainstream" Republicans are a dying breed. Look at what Mr. "maverick" McCain has had to pretend he is for and against just to make it through the primary. He went from supporting amnesty and real immigration reform (I supported his ideas from the Bush attempt to overhaul immigration) to coming close to saying he supports a repeal of the 14th amendment to appease the far right! He walked that back recently, thank goodness, but my God, what has my party turned into? I thought we wanted to protect the Constitution.

Pres. Obama who is popular (55-44) in Ct. will campaign/fundraise for Blumenthal Sept. 16.

"I look forward to welcoming the President of the United States to Connecticut,'' Blumenthal said in a statement released by his campaign. "It is an honor to have his support and his assistance. His visit will make a difference for us, energizing our supporters and helping us raise the resources we need against my opponent who is spending an unprecedented $50 million on her campaign."
