Another Petty "Vitterism" To Be Ashamed Of

By wcolin - Posted on 30 April 2010

Sen. David Vitter, R-LA, is holding up the appointment of a decorated soldier to a position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers because of a disagreement with the Corps regarding levee reconstruction in the New Orleans area. According to Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-ND, chairman of the subcommittee which has funding oversight over the Corps, Vitter has single-handedly held up this appointment for seven months because of the dispute, a dispute that Gen. Michael Walsh, the intended apointee, has nothing to do with.

Chalk up another great coup for David Vitter. He seems to be giving Charlie Melancon, his opponent in the November Senate contest, ample ammunition to try and unseat him.
