Maddow battens down the Hatch!

By Misty - Posted on 03 March 2010

I love this lady...real news...real truth....and with style

Orrin is a Liar. Always has been. Always will be. Nice dresser though.

She is right... maybe.  She is correct that the Republicans cannot stop it. She may not be correct that the Democrats WILL do it.  Their cowardace and astonishing ability to implode still has plenty of time to reveal itself.

But that was a wonderful excoriation of the Republicans... and especially of the Washington Post.

I am just amazed that the MSM does not call out these lies. They barely challenge these guys when they go on the Sunday talk shows, etc. What happened to the Tim Russert-expose the facts-journalism. It's very sad when Republicans know that the lies work and they can easily get away with it. Rachael is amazing but she could use a little help from the MSM!
Damn liberal media?

What liberal media??? The local NBC station here in East Texas is just as bad a Fox News. There is no balanced news here, only propaganda. Thank goodness for CNN! I do love the Rachel Maddow show. She is liberal but gives a reasonable and intelligent rebuttal to the crazies out there. Bill Moyers had two former Republican congressmen on a few months ago. These men were conservative but reasonable and intelligent and made some very good points. What happened to reason? I miss rational debate. I miss living in a country that didn't demonize people with differing opinions.

I even miss the old dreaded math gotcha questions. LOL! :-D

LOL, that's the point. The media is far less liberal than it is lazy, sensationalized infotainment.

BINGO...

sensationalized infotainment!

left? right?

Who needs to inform people; check facts, be ethical, tell the truth, etc... when we can make money!  Corporate media $$$$$$$$$....the bottom line.

"Peace Cannot be kept by force.  It can only be achieved by understanding."

Albert Einstein

"Peace Cannot be kept by force.  It can only be achieved by understanding."

We're doomed!

Blame 60 MINUTES, the first major network news show that made a big profit over a long period of time. Before that, network broadcast news was a break-even-at-best public service and prestige operation. Once corporate America discovered that broadcast  "news" COULD make money, it was only a matter of time before broadcast "news" HAD TO make money. Here we are.

I would add to this point the effects that cable television had on the industry as well... Entire networks devoted to news (or "news-like-substances" -- my made up term) 24/7.  So much time, so little actual news: recipe for infotainment.

God, I miss Walter Cronkite.

Haha, the Daily Show is doing an amazing segment tonight with a website called Chat Roulette and he had some great guest stars, including Diane Swayer, Brian Williams, Katie Couric and Kieth Olberman making fun of himself and the obsession with the Bush administration.

This will probably go down as one of my favorite DS segments of all time. A warning that there are some dirty jokes if you don't like that sort of thing.
