Liberalism, Conservatism and Football

By mmhiga - Posted on 19 October 2009

I just finished reading a very interesting article - well, actually, excerpts from a book, "Eating a Dinosaur", by Chuck Klosterman - in ESPN.com.  While the article is not political in and of itself, Mr. Klosterman presents his argument that American football is a sport that feels "conservative" in the political and social sense, but is actually quite "progressive" and in some cases, "radical".  Regardless of whether you think Mr. Klosterman is on to something or is just full of horse manure, I think you will find this to be an interesting read whether you are a liberal, conservative, sports fan or non-fan.  Enjoy!

I LOVE this!  I will definitely look into buying his book.

I just don't have time to read any (fun) books right now, as I am immersed in studying.  However, during the Christmas holidays I'll be looking for something fun.

Speaking of football: what do the football fans here think about the vintage uniforms this year?  I think it's pretty cool myself.
