the late Jack Kemp, a hometown hero here in Buffalo, was among those honored. They described him as putting country over party. Boy, you can't say that for too many Republicans anymore.
You sure can't...Kemp was Reagan before Reagan was Reagan...ahh, all the good ones have left us with this.

For those who are interested, Turner Classic Movies is having 24 hours of Poitier movies starting at 6:00 a.m. EDT on Friday. I sure wish I had cable!
