The GOP's foray into social networking

By magus_melchior - Posted on 16 June 2009

While we're on the subject of Twitter, a brief detour courtesy of Talking Points Memo, into the GOP's stumbling first steps into so-called new media. Among the gems are Rep. Joe Barton's boast that he "stumped" Energy Secretary Steven Chu about where oil comes from (while apparently denying plate tectonic theory like a moron), and the Virginia GOP chairman telegraphing tweeting his plans to convert a Democrat... to everyone, including the Virginia State Senate Democrats.
My circus music track is getting worn out...

I don't know how things got so off track from 2000 and 2004 when the GOP seemed to have the edge in netroots organization but they've either dropped it or... something. I don't know what. I can't explain it.

It seems to have drifted...
