Desperately Seeking Unity?

By Kelly Thomas - Posted on 05 January 2009

According to this article, the vibe from a GOP consultant describes members as "just pissed."

It sure sounds like the prepartions for the RNC Chairman race are not going very smoothly. Maybe they should hold the vote in Unity, NH?

“Some people are pissed off at [Americans for Tax Reform President] Grover [Norquist]. Some people are pissed off at the Conservative Steering Committee. Some people are pissed off at [current RNC chair] Mike Duncan. Some people are pissed off at social conservatives. The social conservatives are pissed at leaders in Congress,” said a Republican consultant who has worked with the RNC. “Everyone is basically pissed.”

They need some Dr. Phil advice.

Yes-they should just get everyone together in a comfy room with many couches and shrinks to let it all out. Oprah-get in there with your camera crew-this will be good.

Okay, let me break down a couple of these "pissed" conservatives complaints. I promise its better than looking at cartoons.

1. Some people are pissed off at [Americans for Tax Reform President] Grover [Norquist].

Michelle Malkin: Some of us have not forgotten how Norquist made common cause with the left-wing zealots at People for the American Way in a forum bashing the Patriot Act — and how he forged even more dangerous alliances in the name of Muslim GOP outreach. See her article The GOP’s Grover Norquist problem and the RNC debate

2. The social conservatives are pissed at leaders in Congress.

Republican Party officials say they will try in January to pass a resolution accusing President George Bush and congressional Republican leaders of embracing socialist policies.

Wow, so Bush and the GOP gang embrace socialism. Sooo......... basically the big problem with Washington Republicans that needs to be addressed directly is that they aren't far enough to the right? Yeah, yeah, that's it! If I were a Republican, I would have demolished my skull do to headtodeskbangitus.
They should just fight it out, Celebrity Deathmatch style. That will solve their dispute in the only way that they seem to understand, and we'll be rid of some of the worst offenders in the GOP. Win-win.

You just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake.

If insanity is repeating a singular action and expecting differing results, then the Minnesotans who elected Malkin are nuts.

She was elected?

I thought Michelle Malkin was a syndicated columnist.

On the other hand, Minnesotans have seemingly elected a screwball like Franken to the Senate, so you may be right about their judgement.

I'm guessing that Magus is referring to Bachmann, not Malkin.  Same first name, same delusions, different last name.
They got blurred together in my mind. Thanks for the clarification, db.
