Obamas Moving to Washington Soon

It's official: the Obama family is moving to Washington this weekend.

With their Hawaiian vacation drawing to a close and the start of school looming next week, a transition official confirmed that the Obamas will make their personal transition to the nation's capital over the weekend. They are planning to stay at a local -- as-yet unspecified -- hotel until Jan. 15, when they will be allowed to move into Blair House, the official presidential guest residence near the White House.

President-elect Barack Obama will be working on an economic recovery plan, the transition official said, and will be here for the start of school.

He and his wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, will be in Hawaii until New Year's Day, before making a final stop in Chicago en route to their new home.

Oh, Boy, please let me not explode between now and January 20, 2009 when that helicopter lifts Bush up and away for good.

Oh boy, Misty.....when that happens, we can fly our banner saying:

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

You got it GF . . .
;-)  Terrorist fist bump right back to ya, GF!!  Yippeeeee
huh???

You're such a sweet innocent, Blakey. ;-)  During the primaries, Michelle and Barack gave each other a fist-bump on stage.  One of the Fox News people, before showing film of it, suggested it could be a "terrorist fist-bump".  So that was a joke that I knew Misty would "get".

So much for "fair and balanced" from Fox, huh? lol

Phew, I didn't know what this site really was after I saw that...LOL

The countdown has started....YEEEESSSSSS!!!!!

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible... ...who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

I'm still kinda ticked off over the Blair House thing......
I'm sure the Secret Service agrees with you. Protecting the President Elect, especially this one, is a difficult job.

Me too.  I am still bummed about Blair House....

Yea, well, I guess a couple of farewell parties are much more important than two little girls starting a new semester on the first day, or the safety and security of the President-elect.....

For the life of me, I don't see why those parties couldn't be held elsewhere....like the White House....but no one asked me.

Maybe we are making to much of it.

Sally McDonough, first lady Laura Bush's press secretary, declined to comment on the transition conversations, but said the Blair House would be available on January 15, the traditional date it becomes available for new presidents and their families.

The future first family will stay at the historic Hay-Adams Hotel, just steps from the White House, before moving to Blair House on Jan. 15. This classic hotel is named after the distinguished residents who previously lived on its site: John Hay, Private Assistant to President Abraham Lincoln and later Secretary of State, and Henry Adams, an acclaimed author and descendant of U.S. Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams.

That does not look to shabby.
It's not a Holiday Inn . . . that's for sure.
Thats for sure, course though he would know more if he went there..{smiling and crunching down waiting for the hammer to hit me over the head}

Obama and the West Wing?

It's like they knew he was running.

West Wing Titles - Barack Obama, Year 1

Part of me still can not believe it. Can't wait for Jan 20th
