It is also being reported that Daschle will be the "point man" to Obama for the health care issue, to ensure that the program is written according to Obama's views, and not those of White House staffers. It was also reported that there could be a health care proposal in place by the end of next year. That would be very fast by Washington standards, and I applaud the importance placed on this by the incoming administration.
