I was on another thread and accidentally typed "Missolini" in comparing Palin to Mussolini - you all know my fondness for Palin family "pet names" ... anyone have a problem with this one? : )

No, I don't have a problem with it. After all, the facism part seems to fit pretty well.

Palin is IMO more a socialist and redistributor of wealth. This is evidenced by her increase in taxes on oil companies and cutting higher checks to Alaskan citizens.

She may have theocractic leanings also as well as the suppression of free speech.

This was REAL money tho, not borrowed funds.   CAll it populist, socialist or whatever, but her reasoning made some sense:

"These resources belong to the people of this state, not the oil companies.   So I want to make sure they share the benefits of these projects."  ---Gov Sarah Palin

OK, you can also call it vote-buying too.   But a whole lot of people living in states with an "extraction" economy like Alaxka seemed to agree with her.

Sounds like buying favorability from the people because in the long run Alaskans pay way more at the pump than the rest of America. She gives them the checks but has no problem with the oil company getting their money back in other ways.

I've been calling her the Train Wreck In Heels. She's an expensive one too. Alaska taxpayers are paying $1,000 a day for her to have an aide traveling with her. That's a hefty price tag for someone to call home to check on business and watch the kids on the campaign trail.
