NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. set a quarterly profit record for a U.S. company Thursday, surging past analyst estimates.
Exxon Mobil (XOM, Fortune 500), the leading U.S. oil company, said its third-quarter net profit was $14.83 billion, or $2.86 per share, up from $9.41 billion, or $1.70, a year earlier. That profit included $1.45 billion in special items. - link to entire article
Same ole'... same ole'. The rich are getting richer, while the poor are getting poorer. This really has me feeling sick to my stomach. The pure GREED of some human beings is absolutely repulsive to me. I pray Obama wins this election and somehow puts a stop to this kind of thing.


A 7-8% profit margin is hardly what I consider to be "greed". Now, making a profit while also asking for subsidies is greedy We should eliminate that.
What exactly is it that you want Obama to put an end to?
Since this profit was earned when the cost of their input was a record high of $140/barrel, will they be eligible for some tax credit to offset a likely 4th quarter downturn in earnings now that the same input is trading at less than half that price?
That would only be fair.........
