There Is Something Wrong With This
The Wall Street Journal is reporting:
"Looking for fresh ways to press the tax issue, John McCain plans to roll out a new attack against Barack Obama on Friday, claiming the Democrat's plan would increase the burden on families with special needs children."

Is it just me who thinks this attack is wrong?

How do we count the ways that McCain is burying himself? He will be remembered for the total breakdown between his campaign and any tiny bit of concern for the truth. It's gotten truly pathetic when he has to stoop to this level.
"Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped." - Elbert Hubbard (R-Iowa 1905-1912)
This doesn't surprise me. The wheels came off the Straight Talk Express, and it's rolling down the hill.
Obama/Biden 2008
Just like everything else they have tried, it makes no sense and shows how desperate they are. Most people struggling trying to pay bills and put food on the table don't have large trust funds.
McCain just doesn't get it.
OHMYGOSH
This is truly despicable! Do you realize the state of Alaska is actually being SUED right now because services are so poor there. And this from our "advocate."
My stepson has Autism. I live with it every single day I wake up, my wife has been living with it for 8 yrs now of his life.
I actually have brought up to a few friends the extreme possibility that what if McCain is trying to lose, what if his goal is to be the ultimate maverick and by making certain choices (like Palin) he himself could help change the country.
Just a thought, but the way some things have gone....sure makes me go HMMMMMMMM.
God Bless You.
It would be an interesting way to expose the neoconservative and evangelical ideologies that have rendered the GOP largely ineffective.
But we'd have to hear that from him in November, and if he does that, well, the Right would view him as a traitor, and the Left and Center would see him as a lunatic. I don't see how this helps anyone.
Wow... just when I thought it couldn't get any worse...
Combine this with McCain's statement today that the two cities that were the targets of 9/11 (New York and Washington D.C.) are the elitist, unAmerican parts of the country, and you have the Cherry on the top of one of the most despicable presidential campaigns in history.
McShame, McShame, McShame.
I really think this is McCain/Palin grasping at straws. They seem soooooooo desperate. McCain didn't seem quite sure what Palin's baby had during the last debate...He kept saying, "Autism," and the poor baby has Down's Syndrome . Just another half cooked lie by McPalin to try to smear Barack.
Oh, and just my opinion, but I don't think McPalin should be trying to use Baby Trig's condition as a political pawn. Most people have been very respectful of her children's issues but I don't think it's very smart of them to pick and choose what they want to "politicalize' when it comes to them. They can't have it both ways. They should probably leave Pandora's box closed.
I sense another big back-fire with this.
The problems we face will not be solved by the minds that created them.
Wow.
As a family with a disabled member this is truly sickening. What happened to McCain? I actually used to admire this man?
The further along this goes the more I hang my head, not in shame but in sadness. It just keeps getting worse.
When my cousin was young we wouldn't parade her around and use her to get better parking spots- why should Palin take a biological event and turn it into a tool to get elected? This just makes me grind my teeth.
Going back to this mini press conference that McCain has scheduled for Nov 4. -- even if he decides to apologize for all the nasty things he has said and done, can you really forgive him?
Would you forgive McCain for the crude behavior he is displaying through his campaign. His decisions are atrocious.
If he did just a handful of dirty things, then you could spare him. But he has shown that he would go to whatever lows he can possibly reach in order to try to win this election. I think his negativity has gotten way out of hand, and it would be very difficult for me to accept any form of apologies from him.
A true gentleman of character, wisdom, and principles, would not have let a campaign turn into what McCain's has. If McCain apoligizes, Barack is too good of a person and would accept. However, I don't think I will be able to accept it.
I would love to see McCain come out and flip off the extreme right (well not ALL of them many of you have changed my views some) but see him flip off the bad part of the GOP and say HAHAHAHAHAHA gotchya I am voting for Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess I am dreaming but that be the ULTIMATE maverick =)
Wouldn't that be the equivalent of "pointing another finger?"
Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;)
