Palin on Fox - Annoyed at Couric

By Sarg - Posted on 03 October 2008

I think this lady would do best to keep her mouth shut.  Honestly. The "campy" factor is high.  The phoniness factor is way high.  And ... I don't know.

I agree with Palin.  The American people don't need to know if she reads any newspapers or can name any supreme court cases.  We want to make a habit of not having leaders who understand the world around them.

Exactly! You took the words right out of my mouth.  Also, why the heck doesn't she get to ask her own gosh darn questions in those interviews?  Seems a little unfair to me.

"We need John McCain to leave... uh... lead this country." - Palin, Vice Presidential Debate

McCain/Palin Deathwatch, September 24 '08:  McCain presently has a (partially complimentary) 30% chance of winning the election.

I disagree. The newspapers that you read are very important to what you know. If you read strictly conservative bias media, you will look at everything with that bias.

I usually watch PBS.

Wolfman,  I think we are being ironic.

PBS is generally liberally biased.   They do a good job assessing debates though.

Their news is known for stating only the facts. If they were bias, they wouldn't be on the air because their money comes from viewers like me.

I knew that Sarg, I was being Ironic.

I disagree; PBS is one of the few non-biased news sources we have left.

This just keeps getting better and better. I swear, sometimes I feel like we are experiencing the political equivalent of Days of Our Lives. And soon McCain's head will start spinning and, low and behold, Palin will have her former minister come and exorcise him!

THAT must be the October surprise! WOOOHOOOO!

Trick or treat, smell my feet....

Filter???  Good grief, I think she needs a filter, between her brain and her mouth.  She just says the first thing that pops into her head.  I found her "folksy" demeanor to be somewhat condesending..."dang it, dontcha thnk, etc..."  Is that what she thinks the middle class is like?  Just shows who is actually out of touch and in the words of Senator Obama, she "just doesn't get it!"   And as for the interview with Couric, the same questions were asked of BOTH candidates, Biden KNEW the answers, Palin DIDN'T.  Americans have every right to know the answers to the questions and she should be willing to share hers, not deem what questions the interviewer should ask.  World leaders aren't only going to ask her the questions she has answered on the notecards in front of her.  Enough is enough. Please tell me Americans aren't going to be duped by "a pretty face."  Surely we aren't that naive.
VERY FUNNY! Thanks!

"The Sarah Palin in that interview is a little bit annoyed."

Sarah Palin -- The gift that keeps on giving for Obama - Biden.

Word!  And even Fox Noise can't save her.  Last night viewers voted Biden 2 to 1 as winner of the debate.

Is "annoyed" the new "incoherent"?

Word

Obama/Biden 2008

If "what magazines and periodicals did you read?" is not a softball question, I'm not sure what is. It's hysterical to imply that is some kind of "gotcha" question. She might be best to tone it down-Katie Couric is a well-respected journalist. I think most people find her to be fair.

Speaking of being careful about what comes out of her mouth, she expressed disagreement with McCain's campaign about pulling out of Michigan. I guess knowing she will have extended powers as VP, she is getting an early start on making sure she is heard loud and clear. I hope she doesn't step on too many toes in McCain's inner circle.

One thing I'll say is that she is confident. When asked to discuss a weakness in the debate, she went on and on about her strengths (maybe she did not understand the question.) How many of us would be so humiliated by the interviews she has given and SNL skits, etc. I would have been ashamed to go on that stage. But she seemed as cheery and confident as someone who had just earned the Pulitzer Prize. However, I can't help but think of Cheney when I see that level of confidence and it scares me.

I think you're right about her not understanding that question.  She may not have none what an "Achilles heal" is.

It did seem to me that she was nervous, making every attempt to hide it.  Which is fine.   But for me that shows she has some awareness of her penchant for babbling ... or at least she is aware that others think she is babbling.

But the fact that Palin seems more confident and pleased with herself, than nervous and horrified by her underwhelming political prowess, could reflect a lack of intelligence.  She may not realize just how scattered and shallow her thoughts really are.

Irony: being a little mentally dull could keep you from seeing that you are a little mentally dull.

 :)  I think this describes W. to a tee.

That is a very good point.  I mean, if we were sitting around trying to think of the EASIEST possible questions to answer, I don't think we could come up with anything better.

What could have been easier? "What is your favorite breakfast cereal?," or "Do you like puppies?"

Couric, despite her recent network upgrade, is still not known particularly as being a "hard news" journalist. If Palin has a problem with Couric, it only shows what a lightweight she really is.

I have noticed that this thing Palin does in the interviews where she gets incoherent is like seeing several different clips of her all played at once. Like 3 different conversations, all interspersed. It's the weirdest thing. She poses a question, answers it herself, changes the subject, answers the original subject again ... Someone suggested it's the outward manifestation of a panic attack? Any ideas? American Spectator describes it as "classic stage fright"...
