My personal favorite is McCain's Viagra/birth control moment.  It gives me the giggles every time.  What an idiot.  He said he would get back "today" to the reporter, but I never heard about him doing so.

The DNC is out with a new McCain Job Killing video on the web. And the AFL-CIO says it has sent 100,000 of these mailers -- Don't Let McCain Get Away With It -- to "swing voters" in the Ohio. - Watch

Questioner: "My question is, how do you intend to keep American businesses in America and to make America more self sufficient?"

McCain: "I'm not going to keep them all in America."

McCain's Answer for Poverty? eBay!

With a straight face, McCain have been telling residents of the economically devastated regions in the country that eBay represents their economic future. - Watch

McCain: "There are jobs that are being outsourced." A lot of Americans don't know that 50,000 Americans today make their living off eBay. I have to look you in the eye and give you some straight talk. If it's a low-paying job like in textiles that job isn't gonna stay in America."

McCain appropriated these words of Meg Whitman, who just happens to be not only McCain's national campaign co-chair, but the former CEO of eBay. Ebay rakes in the billions, have you had a look at their fees? Also if you take in that they also own Paypal, then double the billions. It doesn't mean that the poor are making a killing like Ebay are.

Power Sellers Say Bye-Bye to eBay Over Buy.com Deal

In a move clearly designed to see how well large retailers will do selling on eBay — and to boost fixed-price listings with free shipping and other perks — the auction giant in spring struck a secret deal with Buy.com, allowing the online retailer to sell products without paying the usual fees charged to its other merchants.

At eBay Live 2008, several Power Sellers voiced concern over the Buy.com deal to Ecommerce-Guide.com. "They're flooding the market, they're not paying thousands of dollars in fees each month like the rest of us (Power Sellers), and so there's no level playing field," said one seller who asked to remain unnamed for fear of reprisal. "And the whole thing, the way we found out about it, it's this secret deal. It's just so unfair." - Link

OK, the first problem is that poor people don't generally have computers. I guess they could all go to the library. But they don't have packaging. I guess they could wait behind grocery stores for cardboard boxes and root through dumpsters for packing materials. But they don't have the money it costs to ship these packages out! And, PayPal takes money out of your checking account and doesn't add their funds for days.

Does McCain have any idea what it's like to be really poor? But that he would cite eBay as the way forward for a community where 37% live in poverty and 40% of the wage income comes from mining seems remarkably callous. Have you experience of selling on eBay? If you do then you know they charge for selling and if you have low value items you are just as likely to lose money on the deal.

What do you get when a senator has it all? Is McCain out of touch?
