The swiftboat vets crowd is behind this with some theorizing they're doing this on behalf of Bob "I'm a Libertarian Who Voted for the Patriot Act" Barr. So far all such claims are unsubstantiated, just like the claims about Kerry.
These are on par with Obama being a manchurian candidate and a marxist.

Well, I'm just saying I'm not going to swiftboat anyone and I think Suzi is wise not to spread those rumors.
It's wrong when they spread lies about Obama and it's wrong when they do it about McCain.
I agree. My point was that swiftboaters, as they're called, rarely care whether their claims are accurate.
The things I've read were long before this election cycle, but they could still be the result of someone's ill will. As I stated on another thread, I could not substantiate the rumors at all, therefore wouldn't repeat them.
Heaven knows McCain has enough character flaws without adding things that may be only a whisper campaign. The 527s probably read some of the same stuff I did, and decided to run with it. Whether or not it's true wouldn't matter to them. Actually, I wasn't aware that it was being circulated now.
Sorry, no, there is good evidence that McCain's "war hero" image is a confabulation. Its more than just the many enemy propaganda broadcasts, there are ex-POWs, and former Army Intelligence officers who have worse to say about him than just that. The Swiftboaters werent wrong about Kerry, and they arent wrong about McCain, either. The whole "John McKerry" war hero architype is just a manufactured image the Establishment thinks you'll buy. We're here because we've seen through all that, and found a legitimate candidate who is really Real. It sure took them by surprise.
