President Obama clinches Democratic nomination

By Misty - Posted on 03 April 2012

President Obama clinches the Democratic presidential nomination by winning primaries in D.C. and Maryland, CNN projects.

He has now surpassed the 2,778 delegate-threshold needed to secure his party's nod.

Congratulations President Obama

Mitt Romney sweeps today's Republican contests, but still has a way to go if he wants to secure his party's nod.
